Stud Hole Details

There are three different kinds of studhole finish: Spigot Mount; Conical Countersink and Spherical Countersink.

This page will help you identify what studhole configeration you require.

Conical Countersink

A Conical Countersink consists of straight edges from the stud hole to the edge of the nave plate. You will need to measure the stud hole diameter (d), the countersink diameter (D) and the angle of the countersink (A).

Spherical Countersink

A Spherical Countersink consists of curved edges from the stud hole to the edge of the nave plate. You will need to measure the stud hole diameter (d), the countersink diameter (D) and the radius of the countersink (R).

Spigot Mounted

Whilst the edges of the holes will be very slightly chamfered to eliminate the sharpness, this does not constitute a countersink. You will need to measure the stud hole diameter as shown in the diagram.
